Our Offerings

Chiropractic isn't the treatment of conditions or disease, but rather the restoration of normal body function.

You hold within an innate intelligence and ability to heal. A spark of light marked the moment you were conceived, and the intelligence that allowed you to grow from just two cells, into a whole human, did not leave when you left your mama's womb.

We are constantly reminded of this intelligence when our finger automatically heals from a cut, or our lungs breathe and heart beats without instruction.

Your nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and nerves) perceive, process and integrate everything within your internal and external environment. Every cell, organ, tissue and system within your body depend on the optimal function of your nervous system. When your nervous system perceives a stressor: physical, chemical, or emotional, it's also responsible for processing and allowing your body to adapt as it sees necessary.

When our capacity to process stress is diminished, we store it. The more stress we store, the less likely we are to adapt positively and respond dynamically to new experiences. When this happens our body expresses structural, functional changes and symptoms (posturing, tension, fatigue, pain, dysfunction, and illness). Symptoms are signals and our body's intelligent design for expressing health, or lack thereof.

Chiropractic is foundational for health as it removes stuck stress and nervous system interference, unleashing your innate ability to heal from within.

Innate Centered Chiropractic

During pregnancy your body undergoes several adaptations and changes as you grow your precious baby.

Your center of gravity changes, your belly grows outward, the curve in your low back increases, and you produce loads of the hormone Relaxin which relaxes your tissues in preparation for birth, just to name a few.

These changes effect the neuro-musculo-skeletal systems, quality of pregnancy, birth outcomes, and baby's well-being (source).

Whether you're loving every moment, or struggling with complications, women and birth providers everywhere are discovering the many benefits associated with prenatal chiropractic and recognize this area of expertise through Webster certification. Dr. Sara Certified in both Webster and Perinatal Care.

By creating more balance, and room in the womb, mamas are able to enjoy improved prenatal qualities of life (source), babies are free to move into their best possible position for birth (source), and all can experience more straightforward labors resulting in less pain and trauma (source).

- SHEREE R.

We took our 10 week old to see her after visiting so many doctors and leaving with only daunting diagnoses and prescribed medications. After seeing Dr. O’Connell for the first time, we had a different baby! We left her office with answers to all our questions. She is so kind and gentle with our boy, but also with us. We have gone from a crying and unhappy baby 90% of the time to a happy and smiling baby 90% of the time. Once skeptics have now turned into believers - we owe Dr. O’Connell everything for giving us our baby back!"

"I can't recommend dr. o'connell enough.

CAN I GET AN ADJUSTMENT WITHOUT A FIRST VISIT EXAM?

No, your first visit appointment is our chance to connect, listen to your concerns, answer any questions, and understand your, or your child’s, specific health goals. This visit helps direct care moving forward.

CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Yes! Children are always welcome! We’re a family-centered community and love doing life with kiddos. If that doesn’t jive with you, our practice most likely won’t either!

WILL I HEAR A "CRACK OR POP" DURING MY ADJUSTMENT?

Sometimes, but that’s not our goal. Our mission is to work with your (or your kiddo’s) nervous system to increase your body’s ability to adapt to stress and function at its best.

Dr. Sara does this through a specific analysis of your nervous system and is known for being gentle and intuitive while firmly believing in bio-individuality. Sometimes she uses her hands for adjustments and sometimes she uses an instrument.

For infants, there’s never any fast movements, twisting, cracking, popping or instruments.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

No, however, we do accept HSA, FSA and all major credit cards.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR MY FIRST VISIT AT BE WELL BARN?

Trying something new, especially when it comes to your health and/or your kiddo(s) can be daunting. But with a bit of prep we hope to ease your nerves and help ensure that you feel as comfortable and excited about your upcoming time with us as possible. Here’s what to expect for your first visit with us!

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

Wear cozy socks. We often have little ones crawling around on the ground and strive to keep ice, snow, mud and toxins out of our space, so when you arrive at Be Well Barn we ask that you remove your shoes and leave them just inside the door.

On your first visit you will also likely need to remove the top half of your clothing for your CLA INSiGHT scans; we will provide you with a gown to wear at that time.

Other than that, please feel free to wear whatever you’re most comfortable in to your appointments.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We are located near the airport in Gypsum, CO. You will receive specific directions to our practice prior to your first visit. If you have any questions or trouble finding us, please don’t hesitate to text us at 720-515-6338.
